    • 14/06/11 - This years winner of the Club Handicap Tournament for the Peter Keffler Shield is Martin Alvin
      Martin scored 7 points out of a possible 8.
      Second (on 6½ points) was Andy Todd and in third place Andrew Salmon (on 6 points).

    • 04/05/11 - NECL Division 2 - Clacton A defeat Brentwood C 3½ - ½ to end Top of Division
      Andrew Salmon, Robert Stephens and Peter Keffler obtained wins while David Pearce was held to a draw.
      All matches in this division of 9 teams have now been played, and this final result puts Clacton in first place on 13 match points, ahead of Chelmsford B on 12 points and Billericay A on 10.

    • 03/05/2011 - Suffolk County Chess, Under 125 Knockout, Final - Clacton win 2½ - 1½ against Ipswich and Retain Title
      The Clacton points came from board wins by Andrew Todd and Paul Eustace while and a draw from Melvin Steele. Clacttonn won this event last year and so retain this title.

    • 27/04/11 - NECL Division 2 - Braintree B defeated 1½ - 2½ by Clacton A
      Peter Keffler obtained the only board win for Clacton whilst Andrew Salmon, David Pearce and John Lambert were held to draws.
      Clacton are second in this division on 11 match points, behind Chelmsford B who have played all their matches to lead on 12 points. Clacton now need to win, or draw, their remaining match against Brentwood C to take them to top place in this division.

    • 26/04/11 - NECL Division 2 - Clacton B beaten 1½ - 2½ by Dunmow
      Andrew Todd obtained the only board win for Clacton and Melvin Steele a draw.
      With no wins this season, Dunmow were previously bottom of this division on 3 match points (from 3 draws) but this result now places Clacton B at the bottom on 4 match points (from 2 wins), below Colchester B and Dunmow (both now on 5 match points) with all games played.

    • 19/04/11 - NECL Division 2 - Colchester B default giving Clacton A a 4-0 win
      Prior to this result, Clacton had 3 matches to play for 6 potential points to take them from 5th position to top of the division.
      They are still on track for this and now in second place, with two games in hand and 3 points seperating them from the leaders Chelmsford B who have played all their matches.

    • 19/04/11 - NECL Division 3 - Clacton C defeat Maldon C 3-1
      In their last league game of the season Clacton C defeated Maldon C 3-1.
      Andrew Todd, Paul Eustace and Nigel Lake had the board wins.
      The division has been won by Billericay B on 17 match points, with a game in hand.
      Clacton C are currently in 5th place on 10 match points.

    • 12/04/11 - NECL Division 2 - Clacton A hold Chelmsford B to 2-2 draw
      Andrew Salmon had a board win for Clacton while John Lambert and Peter Keffler obtained draws against this stronger Chelmsford team who have now played their last match of the season and are currently top of this division on 12 match points, ahead of Billericay on 9. Although Clacton A are in 5th place on 7 points they have three matches yet to play for a potential further 6 points!

    • 06/04/2011 - NECL Division 3 - NECL division 3, Billericay C beaten ½-3½ by Clacton C
      Board wins by Mike Coughtrey, Andrew Todd and Paul Eustace, with a draw by Nigel Lake secured the match win.

    • 05/04/2011 - Suffolk league division 3 - Ipswich E defeated ½-3½ by Clacton
      Board wins by David Pearce, Peter Keffler and John Lambert, with a draw by Melvin Steele secured this win and gave Clacton a final placing for this season at the top of this division on 32½ points, ahead of Saxmunham A on 30½ points and Bury C on 24½ points.

    • 01/04/11 - NECL Division 2 - Maldon B beat Clacton B 2½ - 1½
      The Clacton points came from a board win by Melvin Steele and a draw from Peter Keffler.

    • 29/03/11 - NECL Division 2 - Clacton B beaten 1-3 at home to Braintree B
      Peter Keffler and Melvin Steele both obtained draws.

    • 28/03/11 - NECL Division 2 - Dunmow hold Clacton A to 2-2 draw
      David Pearce had a board win for Clacton whilst Andrew Salmon and John Lambert obtained draws.

    • 23/03/2011 - NECL Division 2 - Brentwood C beaten 1-3 by Claton B
      Peter Keffler and Paul Eustace scored board wins, Melvin Steele and Andrew Todd obtained draws.

    • 22/03/2011 - Suffolk County Chess, Under 145 Knockout, semi-final - Clacton loose 1-3 to Adastral Park
      The Clacton point came from draws by Robert Stephens and Melvin Steele.

    • 15/03/2011 - NECL Division 3 - NECL division 3, Clacton C beat Baddow B 3-1
      Wins by Melvin Steele, Andrew Todd and Nigel Lake.

    • 15/03/2011 - Suffolk league division 3, Saxmundham B defeated ½-3½ by Clacton
      Robert Stephens, Peter Keffler and John Lambert all obtained board wins and David Pearce was held to a draw. This result helped keep Clacton at the top of this division on 29 points, ahead of Saxmundham A who are on 27½, with both teams having just one more match remaining.

    • 08/03/2011 - NECL Division 3 - Clacton C defeated 1½-2½ by Colchester Grammar School
      Andrew Todd obtained a board win and Mike Coughtrey got a draw for Clacton.

    • 08/03/2011 - Suffolk league, division 3 - Clacton defeated 1-3 by Saxmundham A
      The Clacton board win was from Melvin Steele. Prior to this event, Saxmundham A were 2 points behind Clacton, but both teams are now equal top in this division on 25½ points, having both played 10 matches and 2 matches each remaining.

    • 02/03/2011 - Suffolk County Chess - Under 145 Knockout, Quarter Finals - Clacton go through to semi-final
      Clacton board wins by John Lambert and Melvin Steele, plus draws by Peter Keffler and Andrew Todd resulted in Manningtree being defeated 1-3 by Clacton.

    • 23/02/2011 - NECL division 2 - Clacton B defeated 1-3 by current division 2 leaders Billericay A.
      Clacton's point came from draws by Peter Keffler and Melvin Steele.

    • 15/02/2011 - Suffolk league, division 3 - Clacton win 1-3 over home team Ipswich D
      Board wins from Dave Pearce and Robert Stephens along with draws from Peter Keffler and John Lambert secured Clacton's 1-3 win over home team Ipswich D. Clacton now lead this division on 24½ points, ahead of Saxmundon who are on 22½.

    • 09/02/2011 - Colchester B lost to Clacton B, 1½-2½.
      Clacton scored board wins from Melvin Steele and Andrew Todd and a draw from Peter Keffler.

    • 08/02/2011 - NECL - division 2, Clacton A get 4-0 win over Maldon A by default.

    • 02/02/2011 - NECL, Clacton A drew 2-2 against current division 2 leaders Billericay A.
      John Lambert had a board win whilst Andrew Salmon and David Pearce obtained draws.

    • 01/02/2011 - NECL Division 3 - Wethersfield defeated Clacton C, 3½-½
      Clactons only score was from a draw by Andrew Todd.

    • 25/01/2011 - Suffolk County Chess - Under 125 Knockout - Clacton go through to final
      In the semi-final event Clacton had a 3½-½ win against Woodbridge School.
      The board wins were by Melvin Steele, Mike Coughtrey and Nigel Lake (default) and Andy Todd obtained a draw.

    • 19/01/2011 - NECL - division 3, Brentwood win 3-1 against Clacton C
      Clacton's point came from board draws from Mike Coughtrey, Paul Eustace.

    • 18/01/2011 - Suffolk league, division 3 - Clacton defeat Felixstowe 3-1
      Clacton's board wins came from David Pearce, Peter Keffler and Melvin Steele.

    • 04/01/2011 - Suffolk league, division 3 - Bury C beat Clacton 1-3
      Peter Keffler got Clacton's only board win.

    • 15/12/2010 - NECL - Witham B and Clacton C draw 2-2
      With board draws from Mike Coughtrey, Paul Eustace, Nigel Lake and Ray Scott.

    • 24/11/2010 - NECL - Clacton C draw 2-2 against current division 3 leaders, Billericay B
      Clacton's points came from a win by Paul Eustace and draws from Mike Coughtrey and Nigel Lake.

    • 16/11/2010 - Suffolk league, division 3 - Clacton team win 1½ - 2½ away to Saxmundham A
      David Pearce and Peter Keffler got board wins for Clacton while Robert Stephens was held to a draw.

    • 08/11/2010 and 09/11/2010 In the NECL knockout events Baddow club managed to eliminate both Clacton teams!
      Baddow B defeat Clacton B, 2½ - 1½
      in round 1 of the plate competition, where Melvin Steele got a win and Andy Todd obtained a draw.
      The following evening,
      Clacton A loose to Baddow A, 1-3
      in round 2 of the main/cup event, where Clacton's point came from draws by Andrew Salmon and David Pearce.

    • 04/11/2010 - NECL division 2 - Chelmsford B take 3-1 victory over Clacton B
      Clacton's point was due to draws from Peter Keffler and Nigel Lake.

    • 01/11/2010 - Suffolk league, division 3 - 2-2 draw in a home match against Saxmundham B
      Board wins from Robert Stephens and John Lambert.

    • 26/10/2010 - NECL Division 3 - Clacton C beat Colcheater C, 2½-1½
      Clactons board wins were scored by Nigel Lake and Ray Scott.
      Mike Coughtrey was held to a draw.

    • 26/10/2010 - Suffolk League, division 3 - Clacton beat Ipswich D, 4-0
      David Pearce, Robert Stephens, Peter Keffler and John Lambert all won their games.

    • 21/10/2010 - NECL Division 3 - Chelmsford C defeat Clacton C, 4-0

    • 19/10/2010 - NECL division 2 - Clacton B lost 1-3 to Witham A
      In round 1 of the North Essex league, Knockout event, Clacton B lost 1-3 to a very strong Whitham A team.
      This was a rematch, after the Witham team arrived at Clacton a day late for the original match date.
      Andy Todd had win on board 4 to score Clacton's only point.
      They now join other teams who lost in round one to compete in the Plate event.

    • 14/10/2010 - NECL Knockout - Clacton A norrowly win in round 1 against CRGS
      In the North Essex league, Knockout event, Clacton A drew 2-2 away against Colchester Royal Grammar School.
      Clactons board wins were scored by Andrew Salmon and John Lambert.
      After bottom board elimination, the result was thought to be 1-2 to Clacton A.
      Later, it was discovered that one of the CRGS players was ineligible, making the result 1½-2.
      That narrow win means Clacton A can fight on into the next round.

    • 05/10/2010 - Suffolk League, division 3 - Clacton win 0-4, away to Felixstowe.
      Peter Keffler, John Lambert, Melvin Steele and Mike Coughtrey all had wins for Clacton.

    • 06/20/2010 - NECL division 3 - Braintree C defeat Clacton C 3-1
      Clacton's point came from draws by Mike Coughtrey and Paul Eustace.

    • 28/09/2010 - Clacton A win first NECL game of season
      In the North Essex league, division 2, Clacton B were beaten 1½ -2½ by Clacton A.
      Peter Keffler on board 1, scored the only win for Clacton B.
      Melvin Steele and Dave Pearce drew on board 2, and Clacton A got the points on boards 3 and 4 with wins from Robert Stephens and John Lambert.

      Suffolk League, division 3 - Clacton lost 2½-1½ away to Bury
      Peter Keffler had the only Clacton win and Dave Pearce got a draw.
